He will bestow on them a crown of beauty instead of ashes, the oil of joy instead of mourning, and a garment of praise instead of a spirit of despair.

I'm LAURA LOVELY.

I've been called this name for more years than I can count. The name was given to me by an old manager at Victoria's Secret and has become a part of my identity. Extreme, but I went as far as tattooing the name on my forearm in remembrance. In remembrance of what? Lovely is not just a name I like to be called, the word Lovely has been a reminder of how Jesus lived his life. 

By no means, do I claim to be perfect! Often times I miss the mark as a mom, daughter and friend, but I will always remain Lovely, because of Him. I've prayed about this project and about you for quite a while. My prayer is for those that have been beaten down from life that feel like a heap of ashes experience true beauty. I'm here to tell you that Jesus wants to make a trade.

My experience includes many years in cosmetic retail and the beauty industry as a licensed cosmetologist. I currently work in a wonderful salon in the bay area with a sweet daughter the age of 8. Juggling between working, mothering and trying to take care of myself while serving at church can be a heavy load. And yet, there's always one thing I can always count on that makes my world stand still with peace; my faith in Jesus, God and the Holy Spirit. 

I cannot wait to share my stories of Him with you! May you experience laughter, watering of your soul with tears and learn to accept yourself. Most of all learn to accept His love. Ladies, it's time to let go of comparison.
